Ruben Romp
Ruben started his career at the age of 5 riding ponies, followed by riding horses at the age of 15. After completing his studies in Business Management, he went to Jos Lansink to ride as a professional. There, he was very successful and won the Dutch Championships twice as a Young Rider.
After a period of 3,5 years, Ruben went back home to train with Bert. During this time, he worked together with Bert in making Stal Romp more successful. In 2015, Ruben was asked to ride for De Margaretha Hoeve. He left Stal Romp and had many successes with Audi’s Contento and Audi’s Teavanta II C Z. Ruben and Teavanta grew to become a very successful 5* combination competing in Indoor Brabant (double clear and 4th in GP qualification), Dublin (double clear in GP), Hickstead (2nd in the GP), Calgary and Barcelona. Last but not least, they went as team member to the Senior Championships in Gothenburg. Soon after this, Teavanta was sold and a new era with new horses was started.
In January 2018, Ruben returned to competing at the 5* level as rider for Optimum Horses in Switserland. After a period of 1 year gaining experience abroad, Ruben decided to return to Stal Romp and start his own business, “Romp Equestrian.”
Romp Equestrian is specialized in training horses to the highest level of jumping. We also coach international riders and their horses and help them to reach their goals. Ruben has a large network of jumping riders and contacts to help you in finding/selling your horse. We offer our stables for long or short-term training and coaching, or you can visit our stable for a single lesson. Ruben can also give lessons at your location.
